Not only does Tales of the Cocktail in New Orleans bring out some of the biggest and baddest liquor infused parties in the world, intimate events are also thrown during the week which can be more entertaining to document than the big ones. In all of my years of workin' Tales gigs I've never been to Preservation Hall, I'm not sure what took me so long. This place is a masterpiece and feels like it's been around for hundreds of years. On a normal night, I wouldn't be allowed in with my cameras. Since we were covering a private party with TOTC, we were permitted to take pictures from certain areas. Ultimately we could only take a few images of the jazz band performing. Initially upset with our limitations to cover the event, I quickly realized how nice it was that the caretakers were enforcing a no photography rule. I always have my camera gear on me during Tales. It was a memorable moment to put the cameras down for an hour and truly absorb the sights and sounds of this unique entertainment hall. This was a definitely a night to remember for me, thank you Pernod Ricard for hosting such an amazing event!

My name is Cameron Smith, this is my photography studio and farm! We specialize in events, portraits, cocktails and dive bars.. Based in the ATL with frequent trips to Las Vegas and Portland Oregon, we like to city hop. Design, writing, are more things we do on the farm. From blogs to photo books, and below average art that consists mostly of ink drawings, we're creative folks. We're also crazy enough to be house photographers with Hogs & Heifers Saloon in Vegas AND Tales of the Cocktail in New Orleans....We see some crazy shit! When not taking pictures of said crazy things, or planning a wedding celebration on a future ranch, you can find us in our garden with the dogs and cats.
