This year's version of TOAST marked a third appearance to the event with my camera in hand, thus completing the trilogy. The 2017 installment of the artisan spirits tasting returned to the Leftbank Annex located in East Portland. The Leftbank rocks and is a perfect venue for parties like Toast. Over 500 people RSVP'd to this year's gathering making it the biggest one yet. As soon as the doors opened, spirited folks flowed into the annex and craft booze was being poured everywhere you look. Over 40 distillers were on hand with hundreds of different bottles of unique beverages for us lucky attendees to try. Once I was satisfied with my photo coverage, I eagerly joined the patrons and participated in sippin' down some spirits. Everything I tasted over the course of the evening was enjoyable, but trying a Polish favorite called Krupnik was easily my favorite experience during the night. This honey liqueur traces its roots back to the 1500's and to this day, the sweet tasting flavors of Krupnik remain very popular in Poland. Only a few distilleries are producing it here in the states, so I feel lucky to have tried the local JVR Spirits version of this classic. And discoveries like this are a big part of why I love photographing tasting events, cheers y'all!

Dare to say no to spirits sold in plastic bottles. Dare to drink with noremaC Studios...
My name is Cameron Smith, this is my photography studio and farm! We specialize in events, portraits, cocktails and dive bars.. Based in the ATL with frequent trips to Las Vegas and Portland Oregon, we like to city hop. Design, writing, are more things we do on the farm. From blogs to photo books, and below average art that consists mostly of ink drawings, we're creative folks. We're also crazy enough to be house photographers with Hogs & Heifers Saloon in Vegas AND Tales of the Cocktail in New Orleans....We see some crazy shit! When not taking pictures of said crazy things, or planning a wedding celebration on a future ranch, you can find us in our garden with the dogs and cats.
Living the green life in East Atlanta for now, Smith Farm in Northern Georgia the future??
