If you're reading this, obviously I survived the first two days of the 2016 River Run with Hogs and Heifers Saloon. I wasn't a virgin of Laughlin Nevada, but it was my first time to the River Run, and also my first time traveling with the Hogs road show. The experience was truly a circus from start to finish. The H&H family is a little crazy, I mean that as the biggest compliment possible. If they weren't a crazy group, I probably would have grown bored of this photo assignment years ago. After my move to Portland Oregon, I was unsure if the H&H project would continue. Once I settled in the greener pastures of the Pacific Northwest, I realized that I missed my favorite dive bar and taking pictures during their events. Surprisingly I found myself reaching out to the owner Michelle on a few occasions asking her if I could come back down and cover a couple of her annual parties. One party turned into two parties. Then three yearly trips to Vegas turned into four, and before you know it, I was shooting more for the world-famous dive bar than I ever did when I lived there. That's pretty fuckin' awesome isn't it? What's the G.I. Joe lesson in all of this? Don't burn your fuckin' bridges! You never know what your future can bring no matter where you live. Fuck you, I STILL drink at Hogs... See you in Laughlin!
Fuck you, I drink at Hogs! I also take pictures there, and other cool places... Follow me bitches!
My name is Cameron Smith, welcome to my studio. I specialize in portrait photography, event coverage, and some say I have a thing for dive bars and cocktails.. Based in Atlanta with frequent trips to Las Vegas and Portland Oregon, I love to travel. Design and writing skills are some of the extra services I can bust out with my camera. From blogs to photo books, and below average art that consists mostly of ink drawings, I'm considered by my Mom to be an artist - whatever my Mom says goes! I'm also lucky enough to be the in-house photographer with Hogs & Heifers Saloon in Las Vegas, I've taken pictures of some wild shit! When not taking pictures of said crazy things, or planning a wedding celebration on my future ranch, you can find me in my garden with my wife and pets.
Living the green life in East Atlanta for now with big farm dreams on the horizon!
