Oktoberfest in September? 

Portland isn't the only place to start celebrating the annual beer drinkin' party this time of year, the original Oktoberfest in Germany is about to get underway as well.  The festival has its roots in Munich and has been raging for over 200 years.  For two weeks, millions gather in German cities to celebrate Bavarian culture, which equals eating well and drinking large steins of tasty beer, hooray!   

This year marked Widmer's 8th annual version of Oktoberfest, and the brothers did it in style with a two day block party.  It continues to be the largest event of its kind in Portland drawing 5000 beer enthusiasts and party people annually.  The festival features a variety of craft beers from the Widmer collection, German-style food, and live music throughout the celebration.

Thumbs way up for great food, amazing brews, and eclectic bands.  The sounds of Brownish Black and Con Bro Chill closed out the festivities.  Bringing together a humorous mix LMFAO, OK GO, and Freddy Mercury, Con Bro is the best live show I've seen in years...  "Come to my Party!"
