One baby chicken and two hounds

One of our hens recently went on a broody streak. Not down with the chicken lingo?  It means she wanted to be a mother hen and wasn't laying any more eggs until it happened!

As nature intended, we bought a three day old chick from the local farm shop and placed her under the broody mom's wing when she wasn't looking.  Turns out momma bird believes this is her baby and has been raising her ever since.  Pretty funny, cool and weird all at the same time : o )

Five weeks later, it's time to put baby Shelly under the lights...  Look out Honey Boo Boo!

Shelly was a bit too quick for the mini chicken studio.  We only managed to snap a couple shots before she nearly plunged to her death running off the photo table.  Luckily she survived without a scratch and is still livin' the chicken dream!  With the baby session being cut short, we captured some cool shots of the hounds instead...  Do we have mini Imperial Walkers on the Smith farm?
