Greatest hits of 2012At the beginning of 2011 my wife and I knew we wanted a little change. We had lived in Las Vegas for over 10 years. It's a great city with amazing opportunities but it was time for a move. Finally after a crazy year with many ups and downs, we made the big move to Portland just before '12. For me this was the first chance I had to start my own photography and design studio, something I was really looking forward to. With the excitement of creating a new studio also came great challenges as this was the first time I had to attract work rather than letting it come to me. The wedding photography business in Las Vegas is huge with over 100,000 weddings held annually. With such a large amount of weddings always taking place, Vegas is a perfect town to be a photographer as lots of business is consistently coming your way. This is especially true for the studio I managed as we were located in the heart of the strip and responsible for covering weddings at Caesars Palace and the Cosmopolitan. This meant over a thousand events a year! With that many events on the books in Vegas, 2012 was a transition year for me as I was slowly building my business in Portland while continuing to photograph with Imagine Studios in the Vegas Valley. This meant lots of traveling and lots picture taking. Since I love traveling and taking pictures, '12 was a great year! From Portlandia to Vegas and everything in between, here's a look at some of my favorite captures...
