Beacon Rock Trail in WashingtonMy wife and I love hiking this time of year. Most people get their nature fix in during the warmer months so the best thing about winter is that you get the trails all to yourself. Plus the rain adds more life to the rivers and waterfalls which is always a plus. Thanksgiving week gave us an extra day off so we decided to hit a unique trail on the Washington side of the Gorge. Beacon Rock is a landmark and a must for anyone living near Portland and the 'Couv. With 22 bridges and over 50 switchbacks, this quickie hike is nothing short of an engineering masterpiece! And once you get to the top, the view is sick. I couldn't put my camera down on this one :)
