On May 19th 2014, a federal judge ruled that Oregon’s ban on same-sex marriage is unconstitutional.  The decision took effect immediately allowing jubilant partners to begin marrying just moments after the ruling.

To celebrate this human rights victory, Oregon United for Marriage hosted an all day party at the Melody Ballroom.  The event included good drinks, good eats, and most importantly, areas for eagerly awaiting couples to legally get married!  Professionals and volunteers from all over Portland donated their time and services to make the event work as hundreds of partners gathered to take the plunge.  The ballroom had a festive atmosphere all afternoon and I'm sure the party only got bigger through the night.  I'm stoked to be a part of the photography group that helped in documenting this historic day...
