Just who are the Bon Vivants?  I've never heard these words spoken together until I started covering cocktail events.  Don't you think those are cool looking and sounding words?  Go ahead, say them out loud.  The Bon Vivants!   Anyone know what they mean? 

Etymology: French, literally, "good liver"

A person having cultivated, refined, and sociable tastes, especially with respect to food and drink.

Sounds like my kind of people!  

These guys are well known in the cocktail world for a variety of good stuff.  They're also well known during Portland Cocktail Week for throwing awesome Pig and Punch parties.  But hold everything, no eating and drinking until we get some work done in the community!  The beneficiary of this year's volunteer effort organized by the Vivants was the Portland Village School.  It was great to see how much work got done in an afternoon with a good plan and little love from the PDXCW volunteer group.  Cheers to everyone that was a part of this!  Nice one!
