Whiskey is a cool sounding word, no matter how you spell it.  It wasn't until recently I started enjoying the whiskey.  In my early days, I liked ripping shots of any liquor served to me, this drinking style probably didn't represent the best brands out there.  I think Old Grandad was a college favorite.  Since I've found my taste buds for rye, events like yesterday's are a yummy treat to my toungue.  

Master distiller Dave Pickerell from WhistlePig Whiskey hosted a tasting event at one of the newer cocktail joints in Portland, the Bit House Saloon.  At this intimate gathering, you could pet a pig, eat some pig, or drink a little pig, WhistlePig Rye that is!  I chose to participate in two out of the three activities, sorry bacon lovers, I don't dig on swine ;)   

Thank you Sarah and Dave for inviting me down to take some pictures.  Can't wait for my next Whistle Pig Whiskey drink!  Also can't wait to live on a farm with a pet pig!  Oink Oink
