Cocktail & Event Photography from Portland Oregon to New Orleans
Last year was a thirsty one from behind the lens. I attended and photographed more cocktail and spirit filled parties than ever. My photography professor and fellow classmates in college always wondered why I took so many pictures of people swilling the booze. I guess I was preparing for the life of a future event photographer? Comments from colleagues during class presentations were always the same, "Cameron, these pictures are great, but why do they always have to include people partying in them?" I never really had a good answer to that. At the time, I was just taking pictures of what was around me. I also never really took my photo classes too seriously. They were fun, and spending time in the darkroom away from other sh*t was always relaxing, but was I going to become a professional photographer? I didn't think so. And here we are almost 20 years later and I still have my camera in hand, and actually get paid to take pictures. Still can't f*ckin believe it sometimes but I'm rollin' with it. The days of processing black and white film in a pitch black room are history, but late nights of taking pictures of people imbibing are not! Which way to the pub?
