The St. Johns Parade is one of my favorite weekends of the year in the neighborhood.  Actually I like every weekend here in North Portland.  My neighbors are the best and we have a community unlike any other area I've lived during the first half of my life.  Pier Park rocks, our movie theater is awesome, maybe one too many pizza places and coffee shops.  Plenty of watering holes to fill your growler while taking in some live music, and fresh food markets that are open daily.  Lots of bike only lanes and options for vegan grub, plus a few nice spots to tap your BBQ or burrito fix.  Ummm.  Good beer, yummy food, great neighbors, sounds like a keeper to me!  Unfortunately I couldn't stay long at this year's parade as the photo side of my studio had other events to cover during a busy weekend of outdoor stuff happening all over Portland.  I did get to stay to the end of the parade and catch a glimpse of one of St. John's newest and most welcome neighbors.  Some say he fixed our local clock just by looking at it...
