Back when Melissa and I first moved to Northwest Georgia, we were approached to cover a wedding at Oakleaf Cottage.  Not being familiar with the area yet, we were thrilled to discover this venue was close to our house.  Having a huge love of wedding photography, and then an interest in one day hosting weddings on our own ranch, we were both extremely excited to be covering a local event at place we'd never been to.  

After documenting a beautiful wedding and meeting the owners of the property, I got such a great first impression that I wanted to return to the venue and become an extra set of hands when they needed help.  A few months later I reached out to the owners and asked if they were looking for assistance with their events.  They responded back with a yes and the rest is history!  I've now helped with over 50 weddings and enjoy each time I'm invited to the property to help where I can.  

This year we're going to try something new while I'm at the venue and helping out.  In order to get more usable images in our hands for blogging and promotion, I'm going to bring my camera with me and snap a few pictures of each ceremony.  This will allow me to use my photo skills during a number of weddings, and then still be able to help out with the production side of each event.  It's a win-win for everyone!

Below are a few highlights from this weekend's celebration.  If you look close in the first few snaps, you'll notice a little snow on the ground, which is rare in North Georgia... Especially in March!  Luckily the venue offers a beautiful barn for receptions, that just so happens to be an awesome plan B for when Mother Nature doesn't cooperate!!

Cheers to the first event of the year at Oakleaf Cottage.  Looking for to a busy 2022, especially now since I get to tap into my creative side during each party ;)
