Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum

This past week a friend from Vegas came up North to visit Oregon for the first time.  Since he has his pilot's license and loves talking about planes, I decided to take him to the Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum in McMinnville.

The museum has a pretty amazing collection of flying machines both old and new, large and small.  At the centerpiece of the massive exhibit is the mighty Spruce Goose or officially, the Hughes H-4 Hercules.  Describing the Hercules as a big plane is an understatement.  It stands five stories tall with a wingspan larger than a football field, good thing I brought the fish-eye lens!

It seems pretty weird that there is a huge aviation and space museum in the middle of Oregon but it was well worth the trip.  Especially since I think Top Gun is one of the best movies of all time...  "That's right! Ice...Man. I am dangerous."
