What the fuck were you doing in 2005? Seems like ages ago.
Hogs & Heifers was gearing up for the opening of their first saloon out West. The original two were in New York. Now it was time to see if Las Vegas could handle this shit show.
I'm guessing most locals in Vegas had no idea what the hell Hogs was when they first heard about the place. I was invited to photograph the soft opening by the owner herself and didn't even know what I was getting into. With a name like theirs, I assumed it would be a joint to eat and drink. Something cozy and corporate serving huge portions of grub to feed all the fat hungry faces that come to Sin City. But little did I know how awesome this saloon was going to be.
Imagine one of your favorite neighborhood bars at home, but this place is louder, way louder. Add bartenders who want to party harder than you do, way harder. Throw in an eclectic crowd that starts drinkin' at noon, an amazing playlist from a one-of-kind jukebox (that you can't touch), and the fact this watering hole is only a block away from the craziness of downtown Las Vegas, and Bammm!!!
You have one of the best dive bars in the world. #hogslife
My name is Cameron Smith, welcome to my studio. I specialize in portrait photography, event coverage, and some say I have a thing for dive bars and cocktails.. Based in Atlanta with frequent trips to Las Vegas and Portland Oregon, I love to travel. Design and writing skills are some of the extra services I can bust out with my camera. From blogs to photo books, and below average art that consists mostly of ink drawings, I'm considered by my Mom to be an artist - whatever my Mom says goes! I'm also lucky enough to be the in-house photographer with Hogs & Heifers Saloon in Las Vegas, I've taken pictures of some wild shit! When not taking pictures of said crazy things, or planning a wedding celebration on my future ranch, you can find me in my garden with my wife and pets.
Living the green life in East Atlanta for now with big farm dreams on the horizon!
